Don`t meditate thinking it will calm you down. Meditate to learn to accept what is.

The more you do mindfulness, do more you do meditation, the more it`s present in your life.
It starts to take over and becomes much stronger then the things your are trying to fight.
Don't fight against something, even if it's inside of you and you didn't want it. Take mindfulness into your life. Even if you can't meditate or breathe, you can do the mindful walking. Mindful dish washing. Mindful gardening. Mindful caressing of your cat.
Do it every day and it will slowly start to take over your doubts and fears. They will exchange places.
You didn`t get rid off doubts, fears or sadness, you just learned how to accept them and live with them. They cannot be erased or expelled, they are a part of you just like they are a part of anyone else. No one is without pain. The difference is that some people just deal with it differently.
